-In honor of International Trans Day of Visibility, several events stand out. Strands for Trans, the global network of trans-affirming barber shops and hair salons, virtual LGBTQ+ safe space Phluid City, and independent agency Terri & Sandy have come together to launch “Gender Euphoria: A Global Celebration,” the first-ever virtual reality event celebrating transgender rights. Celebs and LGBTQ+ influencers including Billy Porter, Chella Man, Nykita Joy, Rey Resendez and DJ Lina Bradford are among those making appearances throughout the virtual event which is being hosted via Vspace.

-Filmmaker and LGBTQIA+ advocate Daniella Carter, GLAAD and Brooklyn-based ad agency SpecialGuest have joined together to create an awareness campaign aimed at helping media tell accurate and inclusive stories about the transgender community and people living with HIV, providing positive, authentic stories in the new “GLAAD Southern Story Bank.” The initial series of six videos was created as a journalistic resource for writers, organizers, and citizens across the world to share the personal stories behind the ongoing fight for equality by transgender people and people living with HIV across the South.

-Dentsu and Fred Levron have mutually agreed to part ways, and the agency is in the process of finalizing a succession plan to oversee Dentsu Creative in international markets.

-Sad news from the agency world. Here is a statement from Weber Shandwick: “Angela Mears, our chief creative officer in New York, was in Buenos Aires, Argentina this week to judge The Andy Awards. On Monday morning, she suffered a medical emergency and was rushed to the hospital in critical condition. Despite all efforts, doctors were unable to save her. Angela passed away early this morning. Her loved ones were by her side until the very end. Angela donated her organs so others in Argentina could live on.”
