-Telecom Cox Communications has made “Project Convey,” an awareness initiative showcasing a video chat prototype that helps people on the autism spectrum make more meaningful connections. The initiative aligns with Autism Awareness Month and was developed by 180LA for Cox. The video prototype and research featured in Project Convey are available in the hope that, one day, every video chat platform will implement these tools.

-Burger King has selected independent agency O’Keefe Reinhard & Paul as its creative agency of record for the U.S. market—and chose Omnicom’s PHD as RBI’s media agency of record in the U.S. for Burger King, Popeyes and Tim Hortons.

-Mediabrands global chief content officer and development and production studio Traverse32 global president Brendan Gaul will receive an accolade on May 13 for conceptualizing and producing the theatrical and TVOD documentary “5B.” The film, which was co-directed by Paul Haggis and Dan Kraus, chronicles the stories of a group of nurses who risked their lives and livelihoods and founded the world’s first AIDS ward. The film won the Entertainment Grand Prix at Cannes Lions, a Clio Health Grand, a One Show Golden Pencil and is now part of MOMA’s permanent collection. Now, the nursing school at Thomas Jefferson University is spotlighting Gaul by having him serve as its 2022 commencement speaker, where he will also be awarded with an Honorary Doctor of Science Degree. The event will coincide with Nurses Week.
