Arnold Worldwide hired James Bray as executive vice president, executive creative director. He will be tasked with leading creative on the agency’s Carnival Cruise Lines account and report to global CCO Jim Elliott.

“Beyond his wealth of talent and experience building brands and producing great work, James possesses a true entrepreneurial spirit, drive and hustle,” Elliot said in a statement. “That, combined with his passion for innovation makes him a lethal and potent addition to the agency. And on top of all of that, he’s a great human being. We’re extremely excited to have him onboard.”

Sources tell us Bray resigned from his position as executive creative director at M&C Saatchi in Los Angeles in September for personal reasons and Maria Smith was promoted to fill the role last month. Bray originally joined M&C Saatchi back in November of 2010 and worked with brands including Reebok, Alibaba, Oakley, Vizio, Epson and the San Diego Zoo.
