Who knew shooting those :15 Flip spots could be so adventurous (and perhaps daunting)? Recently, the folks at Urgent Content, a shop founded by Current TV alums, had the opportunity to film one of those brief celebrity Flip commercials, this one starring Ciroc pitchman/part-time music mogul Diddy.
To film the hip-hop star, UC’s co-principal Brandon Gross had to go on an all-night excursion through the Mojave Desert, where Diddy was filming a music video for his track, “Coming Home.” The rapper/producer was apparently trying to kill two birds in one stone as the barren landscape would serve as the location for the Flip clip as well, and as Gross tells it, it was quite a trek to get there. See a mercifully edited video documenting Gross’s journey as well as the end result of the Flip shoot above. Seems like it was worth it.
