After Jamaica pulled out a surprise win against the U.S. Men’s National Team in the CONCACAF Gold Cup semifinal, FCB Garfinkel quickly put together a spot for the Jamaica Tourist Board to celebrate.
While it doesn’t explicitly mention the island nation’s defeat of the U.S., the ad does celebrate Jamaica’s love for the sport of soccer.
Entitled “One Team–One Love,” the spot opens on a boy practicing his header on the beach, quickly jumping to other shots of Jamaicans playing casual pick-up games, all set to “One Love,” of course. The spot ends with the message “Play On,” followed by “One Island. One Team. One Love” and the tagline “Jamaica, Home of All Right.”
Its release was timely, coming quickly after the nation’s victory and before the Sunday Gold Cup final game against Mexico–and it works well as a quick celebration of Jamaica’s historic status as the first Caribbean nation to reach the final stage of the tournament.
