Executive Departures at Deutsch’s New York and Los Angeles Offices

By Patrick Coffee

Details remain a bit hazy at the moment, but two executives have left the Deutsch organization in recent weeks.

As the agency’s New York office named Andrew Dawson as its new chief strategy officer, CMO Tara Levine departed this week. Madonna Deverson, who became the Deutsch network’s first EVP of brand intelligence last May, also left the IPG shop just over a month ago.

An agency spokesperson declined to comment on the two departures but did tell us that there has been “a lot of interest” in another executive-level position in New York: chief creative officer, which was vacated last September when Kerry Keenan left after a brief transitional period.

We hear that Deutsch’s New York office, which is no longer known as “Deutsch New York,” will soon name a new CCO to lead subsequent growth of the department.

Sources tell us that Levine left for another executive-level agency job, so Deutsch also aims to hire a new chief marketer…but we cannot confirm any details regarding Levine’s new gig at this time. Prior to becoming chief marketer at Deutsch last May in the same hiring wave that saw the creation of Deverson’s position, she spent several years with Omnicom’s media agency OMD as director of business development, a role she also held at Arnold Worldwide and Havas after working in accounts within the DDB organization.

Regarding the EVP of brand intelligence position, we hear that Deutsch does not plan to hire a replacement for Deverson, who now serves as a senior strategic advisor at Los Angeles consultancy REFRAME: THE BRAND.

More news to come from the New York branch of Deutsch.
