In today’s totally sexy news, the folks at eMarketer have readjusted their online ad spending forecast for 2010, reporting that money spent on U.S. internet ads is expected to grow 13.9% to $25.8 billion for the full year. In addition, the digital research firm projects a 10.5% increase in US online ad spending in 2011, followed by double-digit growth every year through 2014 when spending will reach $40.5 billion (see visual reference above). During said year, eMarketer estimates total media ad spending will be $188.5 billion, up from $168.5 billion this year. Of course, these numbers are always subject to change.

“The digital ad business is increasingly just the ad business, without separate silos for interactive media,” says David Hallerman, principal analyst at eMarketer, in a statement. “It may seem ironic, but marketers’ economic concerns are leading them to spend more for online advertising.” Read more of the company’s report here.
