EA Joins Mancrunch on CBS’ Super Bowl Rejection List

CBS is following up last week’s Mancrunch maelstrom by rejecting a Wieden + Kennedy-created spot for Electronic Arts game Dante’s Inferno because of its marketing tagline, “Go to Hell”.

Having green-lit the Tim Tebow pro-life ad but canned the aforementioned ones above, the Tiffany Network–whether intentional or not–seems to really be walking on eggshells in order not to offend folks like the Parents Television Council during the big game. Janet Jackson Nipple-gate, what hath you wrought?

Anyhoo, the rejected ad is above screen shots from the spot are above; the new version will feature the dramatically different slogan, “Hell Awaits”, which can also apply to CBS’ prime-time programming. We’re still awaiting comment from an EA marketing exec. Stay tuned…
