Draftfcb NY Undergoes ‘Realignment’

By Kiran Aditham

Spies are calling this “Black Tuesday” at Draft and now we have official word from the agency that after a “thorough analysis” of its offerings in New York, Chicago, San Francisco, Seattle, Orange County, Toronto and Montreal, Draftfcb North America regional president Mark Modesto and Draftfcb New York president Sandy Kolkey are re-engineering the New York office to ensure it has the right mix of talent to meet client needs, while addressing shifts in client spending in that location.

In a statement, Kolkey says, “As we continue to fortify our fully integrated model across the region, it made sense to more closely align our skill sets and resources in New York with our offices in Chicago, San Francisco, Seattle, Orange County and Canada. This realignment has resulted in the difficult but necessary decision to adjust our staff in New York so that we have the right mix of talent and skills in the right jobs.”

Sources familiar with the matter would only tell us that as a result of its “realignment,” Draftfcb is currently looking to fill nearly 150 open jobs in its West Coast, Chicago and New York offices.
