Prestone Products, a maker of auto chemicals owned by Honeywell, has named Detroit’s MDC-owned Doner as its lead strategy and creative agency of record following a review.

The agency will oversee strategy and creative across traditional, social and digital channels, while working alongside sister agency Assembly to handle integrated media.

“We were in search of an agency that could be a true extension of our marketing team and Doner presented us with the full package,” said Gretchen Hickman, vice president of marketing at Prestone. “From data and analytics, to strong strategy and hardworking creative, Doner demonstrated that they could help us seamlessly connect the dots between marketing, advertising and sales. Few agencies have deep experience in CPG, retail and automotive, and Doner came to the table with all three, combined with a modern approach to building brands.”

Doner said the win follows the recent appointments of Jane Goodman to chief strategy officer and Craig Conrad to president. The agency expects to debut its first integrated campaign for the company this fall.

According to Kantar Media, Prestone spent $1.7 million on measured media in the U.S. in 2017.

“Prestone recognizes that to remain at the forefront of leading innovative products, technologies and partnerships requires a modern approach to marketing that can take full advantage of today’s advertising, retail and media landscape, and we are excited to partner together to accelerate their business,” Doner CEO David DeMuth said.

Doner Detroit is currently facing an age discrimination lawsuit from former creative director Susan Walsh, who alleges that she was fired unjustly from the agency where she worked for 10 years three days before her 60th birthday.
