Doner Strengthens Executive Leadership Team

By Erik Oster

Doner boosted its executive leadership team with the arrival of Jane Goodman as chief strategy officer and the promotion of Craig Conrad to president of the agency’s Detroit headquarters.

Goodman is relocating from New York, where she has worked as a freelance strategist for over five years, working with agencies including McCann, Havas, JWT and Zenith, on brands such as Lyft, Bombay Sapphire, Samsung, Verizon, Weight Watchers and KFC. Before that, she spent over three and a half years as senior vice president, group director of strategic planning for McCann. That followed stints as a planning director with Havas and TBWA\Chiat\Day.

“There’s an energy in Detroit right now that makes it a fascinating place to study culture and brands,” Goodman said in a statement. “It’s the right moment for Doner to build out our strategic offering as more and more of our clients need to return to strong brand foundations that give them creative agility, particularly in digital spaces.”

Conrad joined Doner as executive vice president and brand leader on Chrysler and Fiat in 2011. He was promoted to chief account leadership officer around three years later and named chief marketing officer at the beginning of 2016. As chief marketing officer, he recently helped the agency expand its relationship with McDonald’s. Before joining Doner, Conrad spent over 15 years with Campbell Ewald, most recently serving as director of marketing and account development.

“I couldn’t be more excited to step into this role as we collectively write the next chapter in Doner’s storied legacy,” Conrad said in a statement. “In a time of unprecedented change in our industry, I look forward to helping unleash our agency’s talent, resources and ambition as we continue to grow our business and provide more innovative and agile solutions for our clients.”

The appointments follow the hire of Lauren Prince as the first president of Doner’s Los Angeles office and the promotion of Marcus Collins to chief consumer connections officer last year.
