DNA Announces Pair of Executive Promotions

Independent, Seattle-based agency DNA solidified its extended leadership team with the promotions of agency veteran executive Chris Witherspoon (pictured above) to president, chief growth officer and Scott Fero to executive creative director.

DNA co-founder and creative leader Dan Gross will now serve as the agency’s chairman, focused on long-term strategy, while co-founder and CEO Alan Brown will continue to focus on guiding DNA’s leadership team.

“As we enter our 20th year as an independent agency, we recognize that we have an opportunity and responsibility to ensure our agency’s evolution as our industry continues to change,” Brown said in a statement. “We’re fortunate to have a very deep pool of talent that represents our next-generation leadership. Chris and Scott have been integral to our growth, and to diversifying our offering to be ahead of industry trends. We’re excited to be able to promote them both to executive leadership roles at DNA.”

Witherspoon has served as DNA Seattle principal and managing director since December of 2008, following four years with Publicis Seattle as senior vice president, group account director and then executive vice president, executive business director. Prior to joining Publicis he spent over two and a half years as an account director with Goodby, Silverstein & Partners.

Fero (pictured right) joined DNA Seattle from Publicis Seattle a little over a year ago. He spent around three years as a creative director with Publicis Seattle, working with brands including T-Mobile, Visit Seattle and American Girl. Before joining Publicis he spent seven years as a creative director with Cole & Weber.

“Scott has been a dynamic leader for our creative department,” Gross said in a statement. “He’s a great facilitator of ideas, and a nurturer of talent. He’s the ideal leader to oversee DNA’s day-to-day creative operations and inspire our teams.”
