Digitas Loses Head of Planning in Stamford

By Kiran Aditham

Since yesterday, a handful of tipsters have been informing us about the departure of one Vassilis Bakopolous, who has spent the last two-plus years as group director, head of planning at Digitas’ Stamford office. While Digitas has yet to comment on the matter (spies say the planning exec “left mysteriously” though sources familiar with the matter counter that his split was “amicable”), Bakopolous is the second notable VP to part ways with the Stamford office (or vice versa) in the last two months following media director, Melina Usher.

Well, while we await some clarification from Digitas on his departure, it looks like Bakopolous has already landed a new gig as head of insights & research for the Mobile Marketing Association. As for background, the planning exec’s relationship with Digitas dates back to 2008, when he first joined as VP and subsequently worked at Digitas Health.
