Digitaria Hires Street Artist for Office Redesign

By Bob Marshall

About a year after being purchased by JWT North America, digital and tech shop Digitaria faced a challenge at its San Diego HQ. How, pray tell, does one decorate chief experience officer Daiga Atvara’s office in a unique way?

The solution came in the form of buzzing San Diego street artist, Neko Burke. An increasingly popular figure in the San Diego art community, Burke’s prior commitments left him with little time to complete the project. As creative coordinator Robin Kadfalk tells it, “Neko and I met for a 5 hour session, without ceiling lights or AC on a beach-perfect sunny San Diego Sunday afternoon, with a rockin’, sold out Petco Park in the background as the Padres retired Trevor Hoffman’s #51 and the team won in bottom of the 9th.  The end result was well worth it.”

As Kadfalk puts it, the agency was looking for “a place that would be less an office and more of a transformative environment where Digitaria’s creatives could brainstorm, relax, hang out.” Do the wheatpasted walls of Digitaria sound like a place where creativity will flourish? Or does the “digital plant station” that is its parent’s Paris office better suit you?
