While it’s probably not on the scale of Red Bull’s $220 million soccer arena in New Jersey, VFX/animation company Digital Domain has nonetheless won the naming rights for the New York Mets’ spring training home in Port St. Lucie, FL, which for the last six years has been known as Tradition Field.

According to WFAN, the Digital Domain Park deal also includes provisions for programming at New York’s Citi Field and its scoreboard on selected dates. The renaming seems rather timely considering that Digital Domain, which was co-founded by James Cameron and has recently launched a sister prodco called Mothership,is planning on opening a studio in the area. No word yet on how Mets fans feel about the end of Tradition.
