Deutsch welcomed Martin Mannion to the agency’s New York office as senior vice president, director of professional strategy.

In the role, Mannion will be tasked with leading professional planning on the global Johnson & Johnson Vision account Deutsch oversees for IPG’s open architecture model, IPG Vision, as well as new business initiatives. He will report directly to IPG Vision managing director Jayme Maultasch.

Mannion joins Deutsch from Guidemark Health, where he served as executive vice president, chief strategy officer, responsible for designing and implementing strategic solutions for brands including Evofem Biosciences, Fresenius Home Care and the PaxVax and Seqirus vaccine franchises. Before joining Guidemark Health in 2015, he spent nearly two and a half years with ICC Lowe as executive vice president, director of strategy and branding.

In a statement, Maultasch said Mannion was “a must-hire for Deutsch.”

“He’s a brilliant professional planner and knows how to integrate consumer and professional insights and ideas that consistently drive business results,” he added. “We worked with Martin while he was at ICC on J&J’s Acuvue brand; he’s ROI obsessed, and we’re excited to have him back on the team.”

Back in September, Deutsch and IPG were eliminated from Volkswagen’s global review. The next month, Deutsch promoted Kelsey Hodgkin to head of strategy for its Los Angeles office, following the departure of Rob Campbell.
