The New York offices of Deutsch have promoted Dan Murphy (above right) to executive vice president, director of digital.

This move comes approximately 18 months after the IPG shop hired Murphy away from Google to oversee its digital production projects.

Murphy will now report to CEO Val DiFebo; he had been working under Joe Calabrese, evp, director of integrated production.

He will also take on a larger role at the agency’s artificial intelligence division Great Machine, working with svp, director of technology Husani Oakley and svp, group creative director Able Paris (left to right, above).

“I’m excited to build on Deutsch’s rich storytelling abilities and evolve our systems thinking to help hack into modern hearts and minds,” said Murphy, adding, “and the opportunity with Great Machine is equally as thrilling. The MarComm-AI space has more than its share of buzzword peddlers. Our commitment to making and experimentation keeps our solutions for clients grounded in reality.”

Great Machine clients include Siemens and AB InBev, “among others.”
