Deutsch LA Adds Account Execs to HTC

There seems to be a creative slant with our people news, so we figured why not show the account side some love. After adding several folks to its Volkswagen team over the last few months, Deutsch LA is turning its focus to HTC as the agency’s brought on Walt Smith and John Deschner to serve as  EVP, group account director and SVP, digital group account director on the smartphone brand’s business.

Smith (pictured) arrives from TBWA\Chiat\Day LA, where he spent nearly two years as global managing director on the Infiniti account. Prior to that, he spent time managing the Nissan account out of TBWA Paris and served as president of the now-defunct San Francisco shop, Cutwater for some time.

Deschner, meanwhile, hails from AKQA’s D.C. office, where he worked for seven years and held the title of client services director, working with the likes of VW, Delta, ESPN and the US Postal Service. Deschner also had a brief stint at CP+B, where he led the interactive account for Domino’s.
