By Erik Oster

Deutsch appointed Cristian Strittmatter as senior vice president, digital design director, marking the latest addition to a design division which has grown from five to 30 designers in four years. In the role, he will lead the design vision on all digital properties while reporting to executive vice president, design director Nathan Iverson.

Strittmatter joins Deutsch from SapientNitro, where he has served as design director since December of 2014. He originally joined SapientNitro in August of 2009 as a senior art director before being promoted to associate creative director in April of 2012. While with the agency he worked with clients including Adidas, Harley-Davidson, Activision, Sony Electronics, Walt Disney World Parks & Resorts, Jeep and Activision. Prior to SapientNitro he spent over six years with Scratch Design Studio as a creative director, working with brands such as AT&T, Disney XD, Sony Pictures, Nickelodeon, Subaru, Nintendo and Ubisoft.

“What I love about Cris is that he is a fine artist,” said Iverson. “And when you have someone that does that type of painting, they are able to execute work with an incredible amount of detail, concentration, focus and expression, which shows the quality of work that he expects. He brings care and craft to everything he does, which is so important, especially within the digital space.”
