Publicis Groupe-owned Turner Duckworth, the design agency that crafted the Amazon logo, has unveiled a new global leadership team to kickstart the new year.

Joanne Chan, who joined Turner Duckworth in 1997 and has been serving as chief operating officer, will move into the role of global CEO. Sarah Moffat, who has been with the firm since 1998, was promoted to global chief creative officer from executive creative director.

Co-founders David Turner and Bruce Duckworth have moved into the role of co-chairmen to focus on “assisting with issues critical to the ongoing and long-term success of the agency,” according to Turner Duckworth.

“Sarah and I will carry the banner of creative excellence forward above all else,” Chan said in a statement. “We take to heart the deep responsibility of providing our clients with the same persistent pursuit of the highest quality creative they’ve come to expect from Turner Duckworth.”

Chan and Moffat will both now be responsible for the agency’s creative product and business across its three studios in London, New York and San Francisco. During their more than 20-year careers at Turner Duckworth, Chan is credited for driving the agency’s North American business and leading the San Francisco office to grow from two employees to 70, while Maffat has led work across all three offices.

“We’re truly excited about ushering in a new generation of leadership with David and Bruce continuing as advisors and mentors as we further grow the business and help transform the visual identity of brands with big ambitions,” Moffat added in a statement.

Turner Duckworth, acquired by Publicis in 2014 to become a part of the Leo Burnett Worldwide network, currently works with clients such as McDonald’s, P&G, Samsung, BlackRock, HSBC, Beam Suntory and UnitedHealthcare, among others. The agency opened the New York office following the acquisition and said it has since doubled it in size.

“Turner Duckworth has never been stronger in business and reputation and it is poised for new, exciting things to happen,” Turner said.

Duckworth added, “It’s time to pass the torch to a new generation who have our unwavering trust to carry our brand forward with fresh ideas and energy.”
