Just over a year after winning the business of Energy Upgrade California, DDB’s Bay Area office has expanded its remit with the group.
The agency’s new responsibilities will include “developing and implementing a comms program to educate and inform Californians on the rollout of the new Residential Rate design program,” which is the latest development in a long-term plan to help state residents use less energy in the interest of reaching ambitious goals.
“Rate Reform is an important initiative for Californians, and we’re honored to have been given this expanded role supporting Energy Upgrade California,” said DDB S.F. managing director Mark Hansen in the release. “It’s something that will play an important role in engaging residents and supporting the state’s ambitions for a cleaner California.”
Moving forward, the agency will help develop a PR, advertising, multicultural marketing and community engagement campaign along with fellow Omnicom agencies OMD, Ketchum, DDC, Alma and Tribal.
Here’s an example of the work they’ve done so far, which in this case involves fellow Omnicom client McDonald’s.
Over the past year, DDB has also launched a “repositioning campaign,” managed EUC’s social media and produced “hundreds of pieces of content” included a documentary series called “Energy Heroes” demonstrating how individuals and small businesses have reduced their respective footprints.
