Cutwater Hires Ex-Digitas Director to Oversee Growing Media Division

Lizzy Ryan joins Cutwater as media director.

As San Francisco’s Cutwater expands it media division with the addition of several new media clients including Axos Bank, Unison, OneLogin, food brand Just, MDsave and Smitten Ice Cream, the independent agency has hired Lizzy Ryan as media director to oversee the growth.

Ryan previously held the same role at Digitas, where she led the media team for Pandora. Before that, she was digital director at MediaCom, serving the eBay and Bose European accounts. At Cutwater, Ryan will oversee the new aforementioned clients while ensuring the media and creative departments are working well together to drive better results.

“We started building out communications and media capabilities four years ago and hiring someone of Lizzy’s caliber and experience is a testament to the practice we have built, but more importantly, it signals the direction Cutwater will grow in as Lizzy makes her mark on the agency,” said Christian Hughes, principal and president of Cutwater.

Cutwater said it will continue to expand its media offerings and staff as clients are increasingly requesting that the agency handle all their needs including creative, digital, strategy and now media.
