Cummins & Partners Canada appointed Cam Boyd and Troy McGuinness to roles as partners and executive creative directors, beginning on October 28. In their roles, the duo will focus on growing the creative department’s size and capabilities.

Boyd and McGuinness arrive at the agency with a wealth of experience at both large, multi-national and boutique agencies, including Leo Burnett, Publicis, TRAFFIK, MacLaren McCann and Taxi2. The pair has experience with large, traditional campaigns as well as digital, social media and non-traditional elements, and know how to work within a tight budget. They arrive following a year in which Cummins & Partners Canada has grown to a staff of 21 with six clients since opening its doors in March.

“After an extensive search for the right creative leadership, we all agreed on Cam and Troy because we thought they were the right fit, not just creatively but also because they’re quintessential Cummins & Partners people — they have great experience across a number of different platforms and can bounce easily between them,” explained Dave Carey, president and partner, Cummins & Partners Canada. “They can provide our agency with the kind of direction our creative team and clients need.”

“We were attracted by Cummins’ focus on independence  while still having the strength of a global network,” said McGuinness. “In Australia, Cummins’ is well-established and well-known as the country’s best independent creative agency. We are incredibly excited to be partners as Cummins continues to evolve globally.”

“We love doing the work ourselves. But over the  years we’ve come to relish the opportunity to be mentors and coaches to a department and entire agency,” added Boyd. “We believe building a great culture and great creative work go hand in hand, and we’re looking forward to developing both.”
