Colle McVoy Has a Memorial Day Weekend Playlist for You

By Minda Smiley

With the long weekend ahead, hopefully you were able to clock out early today and get a head start on the unofficial kickoff to summer.

Not that much will be going on in the way of barbecues and cookouts, especially for those of us in New York City, but hey—having Monday off is a reason for celebration regardless, even if you’ll spend most of the day tending to your sourdough starter (if that’s still a thing).

If you’re looking for some throwbacks to spruce up Memorial Day Weekend, Colle McVoy has put together a Spotify playlist of more than 900 songs that you can check out here. The agency’s employees have spent the past 30 days adding to the playlist, which was started by account director Allison Kuznia as a small way to break up the humdrum of quarantine.

According to Colle McVoy, the staff shared songs based on different themes, so it’s a pretty eclectic mix. But you can easily see why some of them made the list: “Don’t Stand So Close to Me” by The Police and Queen’s “I Want to Break Free” hit close to home. There’s also no shortage of Taylor Swift, Mariah Carey and Beyoncé on there, making it a party playlist fit for the times.

So go ahead, grab a hard seltzer of your choice and virtually cheer a summer that’s sure to be … remembered.
