Code and Theory Names Managing Director in New York

Code and Theory has promoted Ben Berentson to managing director of its New York headquarters.

In the role, Berentson will be tasked with overseeing a team of 250 while reporting to Code and Theory president Michael Treff.

Berentson formerly served as group director of creative strategy, overseeing both the creative strategy and data, analytics and research departments, while leading digital programs for clients including CNBC, CNN, Comcast, Mars and NBC. Prior to joining Code and Theory as a senior director in 2016, he spent a year and a half as executive director, editorial web strategy at Conde Nast.

In addition to a previous stint at Conde Nast, he also has experience at Forbes and Glamour.

“Having come from the client side, Ben has been able to bring a unique perspective in that he hasn’t been burdened by traditional agency thinking,” Treff said in a statement. “Since joining Code and Theory, he has been a driving force in ensuring we continue to advance our capabilities, find new ways to provide value for our clients, build great teams that bring new perspective and excellence to our agency, and champion a results-focused approach to creative problem solving.”
