Right now in New York City, billboards that used to sell for hundreds of thousands of dollars for just a month display are sitting open, white and un-rented due to lack of demand. Prices aren’t at all-time lows as far as we know, but it’s a buyer’s market and you would do well to take advantage of that fact, mmk?

Empty billboards in Times Square are exactly the reason brands should increase their advertising expenditures during a recession. Well, one reason, anyway. Renting space that once cost say, $100,000 for $25,000 is a good deal. Summer is getting closer and the number of eyeballs seeing those boards is set to increase. So get on the phone and convince your client to drop a bit of cash &#151 buy, buy buy!
