Cannes Plans: Cliff Freeman, Digitas, Red Tettemer

By Matt Van Hoven

The annual Cannes Lions festival is edging ever closer, with just 11 days before things get under way. Tucked way down in the archive (from 2 weeks ago) we found the some more bits on what Digitas, Cliff Freeman and Red Tettemer are doing this year in regards to Cannes. Sometimes these things happen. Anyway, if you’re not going to the Riviera, come to the East River.

Cliff Freeman: “…isn’t sending anybody, but they generally don’t, so that’s not unusual,” according to an agency representative.

Digitas: “..will have a strong presence &#151 both in terms of work submitted and people in attendance,” said an agency rep. They’re holding a seminar, which is a regular thing for the company. But considering they put a stop on all hiring awhile back we were somewhat surprised. But they think it’s still a big deal, so they’re sending some people. Of course, no numbers were provided.

Red Tettemer: (of Facebook crimefighting fame) “…will be there for the first time (sending probably 2-3 people),” says a rep. “It’s a pretty major leap for them, but I think they’re the exception. Generally, we’re hearing the same thing you’re probably hearing. It’s going to be a lot quieter than usual. You can bet Wrath will be crazy though.”

Damn straight. There you have it. Got details on your agency’s Cannes plans? Send them via the tips box or by e-mailing agencyspy at mediabistro dot com.
