Buddy Media has the Low Down on Their Social Media Applications

By Matt Van Hoven

Startup social media application builder and (now) analyzer Buddy Media invited us to their new digs a few days back. We happened to stop by at the same time about 75 other media folks did too. Coincidence? No, it was a launch party for their newest offering. More about that later.

We met up with PRNewser’s Joe Ciarallo and MediaPost’s social butta-fly, Kelly Samardak. We also got to chat with Buddy Media’s Michael Lazerow and Brent Campbell, neither of whom even blinked when after a couple beers and long discussions on Media Bistro we said, “so, about Media Buddy…”

Some people have the innate ability to say exactly the wrong thing in social situations. It’s a disorder, and we ask that you respect our “human-ness”.

Enough about that, but more about why we were at the party, after the jump.

So, Buddy Media launched about a year ago, and at first offered customized social media applications for FaceBook. Last week, after getting settled into their new, bigger space just off Columbus Circle, Lazerow and crew announced the next phase of their baby biz &#151 Buddy Brain.

Simply put, it’s Google Analytics for their specific apps. Nice, huh? Per BudMed’s Campbell:

“In a nutshell, the Buddy Brain was built to serve as a portal for any marketer or agency to monitor all social media activity relating to their brands.

The Buddy Brain is the only tool of its kind. Our development team went to great lengths to create an indispensable resource for every social media marketer. It details:

&#151Metrics such as daily and cumulative installs, user loyalty, average time on site, social connections, gender, age, and geographic location &#151 just to name a few.

&#151Daily articles from the top publishers on social media content

&#151Reference tools on every aspect of social media platforms, promotion, tactics and terminology

It also houses the most effective project management system I have seen &#151 something guaranteed to not only make fast-tracking an application easier, it will enable seamless communication between the client and the development team.”
