Breakfast Gets Artistically Interrupted

By Bob Marshall

Breakfast might not be your favorite meal of the day, but we can probably all agree that breakfast food is better than all other food. That’s what makes watching a tasty looking breakfast spread get ruined in slow motion so painful. Well, there’s always the whole pain that comes with watching any video described as “a boldly artistic re-think on the most important meal of the day,” but realizing it was created for an event at the Art Institute of Chicago at least lessens that look of agony to a mere wince.

Created by Springfield, MO-based agency, the Marlin Network, “Breakfast, Interrupted” is actually a video invitation for “an artful interpretation of the meal we know as breakfast,” this Saturday at 8 a.m. in the Art Institute. What this could possibly mean? Well, apparently the meal or whatever will be interrupted by this motley crew of creative ne’er do wells, and it has something to do with Share Our Strength, an organization dedicated to ending childhood hunger. Beyond that, we have no idea, but who else could really go for some Eggs Benedict right about now?
