Bogusky Resigns from MDC Partners

By Kiran Aditham

The chief creative insurgent has called it a day as we just received the official statement from MDC Partners that Alex Bogusky has resigned not just from the network, but from advertising itself it appears. Like, whoa. See below:

“Alex Bogusky has resigned from MDC Partners in order to focus his time and energy on pursuing a number of initiatives and issues apart from advertising and marketing that he feels strongly about. We have enjoyed a long and tremendously productive partnership over the past ten years and have the utmost respect and admiration for Alex. We’re confident that many important causes will benefit from his passion and brilliance, and wish him the very best in all of his future endeavors.”

Having just spoken to Miles Nadal yesterday regarding MDC and their efforts, the timing couldn’t be worse with this announce. Regardless, sources tell us that there are no plans to bring on a new “Insurgent” as the position was made just for Bogusky, who was not associated with any clients or revenue and by the tail end of his MDC tenure, was already splitting time between the agency and his own personal projects anyways.
