Bob Eubanks, the legendary host of The Newlywed Game, agreed to serenade SCS Agency’s clients on Valentine’s Day in an intimate, absolutely genius “The Lovestream” event.
While clients will get to hear smooth, classic renditions of the most iconic love songs of all time (examples of which include The Beatles’ “Yesterday,” Elvis Presley‘s “Love Me Tender” and Sonny and Cher‘s “I Got You Babe”), Eubanks also offers relationship advice and shares stories of some esteemed celebrities (we learn Cary Grant shared a toothbrush with wife Barbara Harris, who he was married to from 1981 to 1986).
Eubanks also reveals how Willie Nelson once got out of jail time after being caught smoking weed by the fuzz (when that sort of thing was still considered a big deal).
SCS made sure the streaming event, produced by partner Knekt, has a little something for everybody: a shoutout to Drake and Travis Scott‘s “Sicko Mode” for the younger viewers, lessons to be learned for all and goats, because why not? Tune in below.
To announce the event to clients, the media and creative agency sent them mixtape-shaped invitations with song titles including “Fallin’” by Alicia Keys, “Crazy in Love” by Beyoncé and “Valentine’s Day” by Bruce Springsteen. Put together, they cleverly read: “We Keep On/Fallin’/Crazy in Love/With You/So/This One’s for You/XO/Valentine’s Day/Love/Stream/Thursday/February 14th/Ten/‘Til/Eleven.”
It streamed on SCS’ YouTube, Facebook and Instagram channels from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. on Thursday.
“This past holiday season, we tried to come up with a one-of-a-kind gift that wouldn’t be consumed or forgotten by Jan. 1,” said Jeff Roach, SCS president and chief strategy officer. “We decided to ditch the chaos of the holidays and celebrate the love we have for our clients on the day of all things love.”
