Big Hiring Spree for TBWA\Chiat\Day New York

Following the arrival of chief creative officer Chris Garbutt over the summer, TBWA\Chiat\Day New York made a series of creative hires.

Among those arriving at the agency are creative director Michelle Spivak, associate creative director Josh Yeston, senior copywriters Cécile Pimont and Mike Schneberg and senior art directors Pieyre-Alexandre Treuil and Liz Agans.

Spivak joined the agency under contract this summer after spending a few months working on Rent.com for 360i, recently becoming a full-time creative director focused on the agency’s H&M, Nissan and GoDaddy. That followed two years as a creative director with Code and Theory, working on brands including Chandon, 7UP, Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Fire, Mott’s, Snapple, and Dr Pepper. Prior to joining Code and Theory, she spent around two and a half years serving as a senior copywriter for TBWA\Toronto, where her clients included Nissan, Infiniti, Visa and Yellowtail. She has also served as a copywriter for agencies including The Hive, Lowe Roche, Margeotes Fertitta Powell, Publicis and GJP Advertising.

Yeston arrived at the agency following over two years with R/GA New York, serving as senior art director for the last nine months of his stay with that agency. While with the agency he worked with brands including Beats, Samsung and Volvo. Prior to joining R/GA as an art director in November 2013, he spent around a year and a half in that position with Pereira & O’Dell, where he worked with brands including Corona Extra, New Era, Reebok, Realtor.com and Fox Sports 1.

Pimont and Treuil arrive at the agency from AKQA, where they served as copywriter and art director, respsectively, for nearly two years, focusing on the agency’s Nike account. Prior to that, Pimont spent a year with Paris agency HEREZIE, where she worked with clients such as Tetley, Well and Materne. That followed a little over a year with CLM BBDO, working on brands including Pepsi, Eurostar, Mars and HP. Treuil, meanwhile, arrived at AKQA following freelance art director positions with BETC and Jésus.

Schneberg and Agans arrive at the agency from mcgarrybowen New York, where they’ve worked as a creative team since August of 2014. Prior to joining mcgarrybowen, Schneberg spent over two years with FCB Global, serving as an associate copywriter and then copywriter for his final eleven months with the agency. Before arriving at mcgarrybowen, Agans served as an art director with Mullen for over two and a half years.

Also joining the agency are the following  associate and junior creatives: Mac Schwerin, Nick Choremi, Avi Steinbach, Gina Pido, Jeff Jablansky and Timothee Bayard.

The precise reason behind this spree is unclear at the moment.
