BFG 9000 Tells ‘True Tales of Clash Achievery’ for Clash of Clans

Barton F. Graf 9000 launched a new”True Tales of Clash Achievery” campaign for Supercell’s Clash of Clans with the spot “Legend of the Last Lava Pup.”

The spot was uploaded to YouTube today, launched in cinemas over the weekend and the campaign’s broadcast and social components launch on December 25, followed by OOH in New York, London and San Francisco three days later.

As you might expect the “True Tale of Clash Achievery” in “Legend of the Lava Pup” is based on an actual achievement in the game. Less expected is the unlikely celebrity pairing featured in the ad. Christoph Waltz delivers the legend as a bedtime story to his son, played by James Corden. The ad is a definite evolution of Barton F. Graf 9000’s approach for the brand, utilizing a mix of live-action, Psyop-animated battlefield scenes and actual gameplay footage to tell its tale. Future spots in the campaign will also feature real stories from fans of the game, mined from online communities and a campaign microsite where players can submit their own “True Tale of Clash Achievery.”
