It’s been over thirty years since he released his first book The Thomas Berryman Number and subsequently left the ad world behind, but James Patterson still proves to be bankable. According to Forbes, the author–who held the chairman post at JWT for six years a few decades back–has signed a 17-book deal with Hachette Book Group to the tune of at least $150 million.
The deal reportedly guarantees Patterson fans that the man will be busting out books for adults young and old through 2012 and perhaps lighting a fire under Stephen King’s ass in the process.
