Berlin Cameron, Girl Up Say It’s ‘Time to Rise’ for Gender Equality

By Erik Oster

Creative agency Berlin Cameron partnered with Girl Up, the United Nations Foundation’s adolescent girl campaign for a new spot promoting gender equality entitled “Time to Rise.”

Starring actress, model, and activist Corinne Foxx, the spot features a group of women slowly congregating as they march down the street, reciting lines from the William Ernest Henley poem “Invictus,” in unison, joined by men quietly offering support. Among them is TV personality Nigel Barker, who appears beside his daughter, Jasmine.

At the conclusion of the spot, Foxx delivers the poem’s final line, “I am the captain of my soul” on her own, followed by the tagline, “It’s Time to Rise,” and an invitation to viewers from Girl Up to “Join us in the fight for gender equality.”

The campaign follows Girl Up’s recent “#DadSquad” spot from Berlin Cameron, which featured fathers such as Jamie Foxx, Nigel Barker, Tony Goldwyn and Triple H sharing inspirational stories about when they knew their daughters would change the world.
