BBH New York Signs Omelet’s Shannon McGlothin

BBH New York appointed Shannon McGlothin as its newest executive creative director, Adweek reports. In the role, McGlothin will be responsible for running the global Vaseline account along with fellow executive creative director Gerard Caputo, while reporting to chief creative officer Ari Weiss.

McGlothin arrives at BBH from Omelet in Los Angeles, where he served as executive creative director for the past seven months, following around a year and a half as a group creative director with the agency. While with Omelet, he worked on the agency’s Super Bowl spot for PokémonPrior to around nine months as a freelance creative, McGlothin spent a year at Leo Burnett, serving as an executive creative director on the global Samsung account. That followed a brief stint at Deutsch L.A. as a group creative director and around a year and a half as an associate creative director with CP+B in Boulder, working with brands including Coca-Cola and Gap. Prior to joining CP+B, he spent six years as a senior creative with W+K Portland, working with clients including Nike, Coca-Cola, LVMH and Electronic Arts. 

“Shannon and I crossed paths at Wieden + Kennedy in Portland, and ever since, I’ve been a huge fan of his work and Shannon as a person,” Weiss told Adweek. “His incredible eye is only surpassed by his big thinking. … Great creatives do great work wherever they go, and Shannon has done just that.”
