Back in January, your friends over at PepsiCo unleashed their latest carbonated beast in the form of Mtn Dew Ice, the lemon lime soda with a little extra caffeine kick.
The Daily Meal called it “Sprite mixed with Sierra Mist,” which doesn’t sound too bad. And apparently it did OK, because the parent company is extending its cherry-flavored run through the holiday season as a way to “elevate your holiday beverages with options that are sure to be a hit,” hint.
This means BBDO New York has again been tasked with promoting the new line via another spot playing to the basketball crowd. This one features Sixers star Joel Embiid and Canadian comedian, internet personality King Bach.
The ad, we’re told, demonstrates how Embiid embodies the brand by rejecting the status quo just like his icy doppelgänger just blocked that shot.
He’ll continue promoting the brand throughout the season, including at the February All-Star game in Charlotte, where things will be considerably more temperate.
