BBDO and Bose Somehow Bring Russell Wilson and Macklemore Together

By Patrick Coffee

You may have noticed, in coverage of BBDO’s “It Can Wait” ad from July, a brief mention of “Bose QuietComfort 25 acoustic noise canceling headphones.”

The audio company does not officially have a creative agency partner and never announced any ad moves beyond its 2014 media review. But a little birdie tells us that its most recent campaign was created by BBDO New York.

The theme behind these ads is fairly simple: bring football players and pop stars together to discuss why audio quality matters. It makes perfect sense if you don’t think about it.

So J.J. Watt is now a little closer to his goal of starring in EVERY ad that airs during the football season. And when did Zac Brown get so big?

Next, Macklemore proves that you were totally wrong to hate him. He’s a good guy with a great sense of humor!

OK, but there’s no way in hell Wilson actually listens to Macklemore’s music. And he should really apologize for wearing that outfit.

Regarding the real news here, BBDO declined to comment on the (alleged) relationship between agency and client, and Bose has not yet responded to our queries.
