Barrett Rebrands as Barrett Hofherr

By Kyle O'Brien

Barrett has changed its name again, now rebranding as Barrett Hofherr. The San Francisco agency that bills itself as “the biggest small agency in the world” is adding the name of partner and chief strategy officer Matt Hofherr, who joined what was then called barrettSF in 2021.

Barrett, which changed from barrettSF in 2022, has seen the largest growth in its 10-year history in the last two years. The rebrand honors the former head of Muh-tay-zik / Hof-fer, and founder and ecd Jamie Barrett said the addition of Hofherr and an expanded leadership team have played a major role in the recent growth.

“Matt is not only a longtime friend—he’s also the best business and strategic mind I’ve come across in my years in advertising,” said Barrett in a statement. “He’s also a leader with a true vision for what modern brands need and what our agency can deliver. This simply formalizes what we already have, which is an amazing partnership.”

“I had a feeling this place was poised for big things when I joined,” Hofherr said in a statement. “The leadership here is amazing. It starts with Jamie, but the entire leadership team deserves a shout out.”

Current clients include Activision/Blizzard, Chime, eBay, MIXT, Twilio, Meta and World Market.

Barrett Hofherr is a member of thenetworkone, the world’s largest network of independent advertising, PR, media, digital, events, branding and design agencies. At the start of this year, the network named Barrett Hofherr one of “The World’s Leading Independent Agencies.”
