This morning, Arnold New York announced the hiring of Sara Bamber as its newest head of strategy.

Bamber most recently served as CSO at FCB‘s New York office. She filled that role from September 2011 until May, when chief Lee Garfinkel hired former Bacardi communications director Kofi Amoo-Gottfried to take her place.

Before joining the FCB family, Bamber led global strategy for the Coca-Cola account at SapientNitro; her earlier history includes similar strategic/planning roles at Ogilvy London, BBDO Toronto, TBWA/Chiat/Day, Anomaly, and Merkley + Partners, where she handled the Mercedes-Benz account.

No word on which accounts Bamber will lead, though some may well be in the healthcare field: Arnold named EVP/ECD Gary Scheiner and Ogilvy management veteran Christine Beeby to help expand upon its health and wellness offering back in August.

Internal memo from Peter Grossman, who replaced Corey Mitchell as president of Arnold’s New York office in July, after the jump.

Let’s Get Things Started: Welcome Sara Bamber

Welcome back everyone. Hope you all had a fantastic holiday and break.
To kick the New Year off right, I’m very pleased to welcome Sara Bamber to our Arnold NY family as Head of Strategy effective immediately.
Sara was most recently the Chief Strategy Officer at FCB Garfinkel and before that held senior strategy roles at SapientNitro, Anomaly, Merkley, and TBWA/Chiat Day.
Sara is an insight and idea machine with incredibly diverse and integrated experience. She has launched cars to airlines, spirits to healthcare brands. She has led product, packaging and identity design in beauty, media and drinks categories. She has spearheaded marketing communication innovation through integrated advertising, content and social media.
Sara will play a critical role in evolving our integrated strategic capabilities and driving our growth agenda, working closely with me and the senior leadership of the office.
The attached press release announcing the news will be released later today.
Please join me in welcoming Sara to the Arnold family. We are lucky to have her.
Let’s make this the first of many many pieces of good news we share this year.
