Another Year, Another Cannes Young Lions Battle

By Bob Marshall

The Cannes Young Lions Competition has kicked off again to honor what’s billed as the best young talent in the advertising world. Participants compete in five different categories: Print, Film, Cyber, Media and, new for 2011, Young Marketer, which is exclusively designed for non-agency marketing professionals.

Starting today, participants under 30 in the Young Marketer category and under 28 in the others will compete for a spot on “Team USA.” Yes, it’s totally like D2: The Mighty Ducks where the Ducks compete in the pee-wee national hockey tournament. Five winning two-person teams will be sent, all expenses paid, to the French Riviera from June 19-25.
