And the (Design) Pencil Goes to…

By Matt Van Hoven

Last night was the One Show Design award gala/opening night of Creative Week and damn we hear things got &#151 well some awards were given. Let’s just be honest; award shows though great and everything are kinda boring so be glad you weren’t there. That has nothing to do with the work that’s presented though, which was of course magnificent. You all are some talented folks. Salud.

&#151 BBDO Network: 6 Total (2 Gold, 2 Silver, 1 Bronze)

Network kinda seems like a dirty word, no? Wouldn’t it be cool if like, some mom and pop shop in Mobile just rocked the shit? Some day people, some day. Anyway the big countries last night were the US with 17 pencil winners and 111 finalists and Japan with 13 pencil winners and 45 finalists. Surprised? We’re not &#151 but what I want to know is the proportion of entries submitted by the US, Japan, etc. Y’know?
