adam&eveDDB, Temptations Suggest You ‘Keep Them Busy’

By Erik Oster

adam&eveDDB launched a holiday campaign for cat treats brand Temptations, centered around the idea that if you keep your cats occupied, they won’t mess with your stuff.

The spot “Keep Them Busy” explores the premise via an elaborate Christmas setup and large group of cats. Each cat is kept behind a small kitty door, eyes bulging in anticipation as the scene is revealed, to the tune of “Deck the Halls.” Then the cats, and the chaos, are unleashed as the felines quickly wreck havoc on the scene…that is until a certain something grabs their attention and makes them run in the opposite direction.

“The internet is full of cats being cute and fluffy, but in reality cats are incredibly mischievous,” client marketing director Denise Truelove told AdFreak. “That tension led to something quite fun in this Temptations holiday video and campaign.”

Directed by Rogue Films’ Sam Brown, the spot does an admirable job of creating a tranquil holiday atmosphere and then destroying it with well-choreographed feline ferocity. It also does a good job of capturing more subtle reactions from the cats in the lead-up to the mayhem. While it may not be most groundbreaking stunt in the world, there’s very little not to like about watching the holiday cat-astrophe unfold before your eyes.
