72andSunny Aims Lower in New Carl’s Jr. Ad

Boobs.

That’s what Carl’s Jr. ads are all about, and everyone knows it. We recently asked a veteran of a certain agency why so many trades feature these campaigns, and the source told us simply, “they sell A LOT of burgers.”

So they do. In a new spot, however, Carl’s AOR 72andSunny has flipped the script, so to speak. Instead of focusing on the top rack, this one aims straight for the bottom.

Our favorite aspect of the ad is the fact that 72 opted to use “sweaty” mushrooms as its stand-in for the female form rather than a more obvious candidate: the buns.

On the food quality/nutrition front, we learn new things every day. Today, for example, The New York Times told us that artificial sweeteners may be (shocker) healthier than real sugar. But no one will pretend that a new “natural” Carl’s Jr. burger is anything other than a heart attack waiting to happen, hence the sexualized toadstools.
