180 Amsterdam Appoints Former W+K Senior Creative as CD

By Erik Oster

180 Amstedam announced the appointment of Adam Noel as creative director, tasked with working across multiple clients including ASICS, DHL, and Qatar Airways.

Noel joins the agency from W+K Portland, where he has served as a senior creative since March of 2013. While with W+K, Noel focuses on the Nike account, writing last year’s “Kobe Piano,” for example, while also working on Dodge and Chrysler. Before joining W+K, he spent a year and a half at BBDO New York serving as an associate creative director and working with clients including Snickers, General Electric, Autism Speaks, Bank of America, Gillette, Twix and Foot Locker. Prior to BBDO, he spent time as a creative with Droga5 and JWT, working with clients such as Microsoft, Puma, Ford, Kimerly Clark and Schick.

Noel’s appointment follows that of executive creative directors Dave Canning and Dan Treichel, both formerly with Barton F. Graf 9000, at the beginning of the year. In a press release, 180 Amsterdam characterized the move as “the first in a series of major new hires as Canning and Treichel seek to assemble a world-leading creative team.”

“Bringing Adam to Europe is a major coup for 180 Amsterdam,” said 180 Amsterdam president and chief creative officer Al Moseley. “After Dan and Dave came onboard at the start of 2015, we felt it was important to take our time in selecting the world’s most creative talents to join our team, and, as soon as we met Adam, we knew he had the exact attitude, pedigree and flair that we were looking for.”
