Vice Media Group (VMG) has acquired creative consultancy Pltfrmr, which will subsequently be merged with in-house creative agency Virtue.

The acquisition will also see co-founders Chris Garbutt and Colin Mitchell take on leadership roles within VMG. Garbutt will become co-president and chief creative officer of Virtue, and Mitchell will become co-president and chief innovation officer.

Garbutt was previously the global chief creative officer for TBWA\Worldwide, while Mitchel was senior vice president, global for McDonald’s.

Former Facebook executive Rob Newlan, who was Virtue’s global president, will take on the new role of global chief operating officer and head of Europe and AMEA for the creative division as it aims to expand its international reach.
