The public watched in shock last year when Danish soccer player Christian Eriksen collapsed on the field due to cardiac arrest during the opening game of the Euro 2020 championship. Eriksen survived, partly because of the swift performance of cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). 

That moment was a lightning bolt for the CPR education community, including British charity Resuscitation Council UK. It also highlighted the stark fact that in the U.K., there is a less than 10% survival rate for people who have cardiac arrests outside of hospitals–but in countries that teach CPR in schools, such as Norway or Denmark, survival rates are as high as 70%.
