Profiles in Black Creativity: Michelle Lawrence Takes on Big Tobacco

2019 campaign spotlights predatory practices

Continuing our Black History Month series in partnership with agency owner Derek Walker, highlighting the creative perspectives and success of Black industry professionals, we learn about how Cashmere acd Michelle Lawrence took on Big Tobacco.

A 2019 PSA for Tobacco Free California (part of the California Department of Public Health) during her time at Quantasy and Associates spotlights tobacco companies’ predatory practices in Black communities.

It’s incredibly powerful work that connects to the We Are Not Profit program and highlights how these companies co-opt and profit from the Black community.
