Throughout Black History Month, we’re partnering with agency owner Derek Walker on a series that highlights the ideas, perspectives and successes of Black advertising professionals.

Today we’re featuring a campaign created by Kendell Burton, founder and chief design officer of KB Agency. In his own words, he reflects on a campaign he created for Z Nation, a show that ran on Syfy for five seasons. To promote an election-themed episode of the show in 2016, his team leaned into the series’ humor to encourage people to watch (and go to the polls).
