Few marketing tactics have become as common in recent years as the limited, “exclusive” product drop inspired by quickly snatched-up collaborations from brands like Supreme.

Today, McDonald’s became the most recent brand to go the limited-release route with its Chkn Drop, which offered access to its new crispy chicken sandwich a day before public release.

Popeyes, clearly a dominant force in the chicken sandwich arms race, decided to muck things up a bit for its biggest competitor by snatching up 50 URLs with slightly different spellings than McDonald’s official site, chkndrop.com.

If you stumbled into one of the Popeyes-owned URLs, you were offered a promo code for a free Popeyes chicken sandwich.
